Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation makes it unlawful for a person to make a false or fictitious statement or claim that they are military veteran or recipient of a military decoration in order to receive a tangible benefit.  It is also unlawful to wear a military uniform in court unless so authorized or wear a military decoration that a person has not been awarded.  This bill also revises the law making it a crime to knowingly and intentionally transmit a false public alarm
